Just like the Roman Empire went through a hay day and than a period of decline, so did LRC. This was due by a variety of reasons. Partially, we had some "hay day" members, as I like to call them, disappear. The most prominent hay day member was SecretSauce by far. He just randomly disappeared one day. It was weird.

I think the problem with LRC at that time was that it was some old, same old. There weren't any skin/layout changes for a long time. Because we didn't need any... it was like LRC on auto-pilot. But when those members started leaving, LRC was stripped back down to those members from .com (which was just a memory by this time). HITC at this time was also becoming less active. However, Zan did step it up during this time, he started getting really active.

The quality of threads and posts on LRC was also decreasing. Just months before, posts were long and "educated" now, they were spam, spam, and more spam. A common, pointless thread from this period:

Both are pointless and really don't help in expansion of the site.

Eventually, the old guys started getting tired of how "boring" the site was getting, and activity decreased, which is evident from this really old screenshot from the stats page.
