| Sparkz's famous quote, posted on April 1st, 2011. But it was no joke. LRC's Near Death Experience as I like to call it lasted from mid January 2011 to March 31st, 2011, the registration of LM. The fix was over with the final "fix" of Zan's Button List, and we were sorta left out to dry. Activity dropped sharply. The leaving of HITC in early February made the situation even worse. And it got really, really bad. There was weeks without any posts. March only saw 16 posts in all. Almost all of them were in the Official Shout Out Thread. It really looked like LRC was going to die once and for, left in the sea of dead forums. Truthfully, I really didn't care. I was too preoccupied with AccuWx.com's forums and ZonePlace- both of which I was extremely active at. All this time I was busy with these two sites, I completely overlooked what was happening at old .com. With winter over, I turned my attention back to LRC. It was extremely neglected as a site. This was March, and remember, only 16 posts that month. I happened to randomly check on .com as I do sometimes- and saw this legit member that didn't look like a total noob- littlemonster. So I sent this pretty emotional message with a bunch of typos in it to LM. And alas, it worked. LM joined LRC on March 31st, 2011 and made a fail introductory thread. http://www.lineridercrazy.net/t989-i-m-newThis starting going uphill after that. Posts starting coming in. April had 108 posts, which may not seem like a lot, but it was more than February and March combined. May was doing even better. But probably the most important part of May was when LM PM'd me and was like "There's another guy on .com. His name is a1c4s8. I think you should invite him." I did. Call it woman's intuition, whatever. Inviting a1 to LRC has been the most important decision I've ever made in the survival of LRC. It was all the right conditions for something to explode. But that's for next chapter. ______________ IDrawTheLines Founder & Administrator |
